Re-engaging existing users by utilising Duolingo's witty tone of voice and pop culture references.

Duolingo asked that old users be re-engaged with their app, and be encouraged to take up lessons as a daily habit again. Playing into Duolingo’s fun and witty tone of voice, Duolingo Meets inserts Duo into popular culture and new releases to remind current users about the app.

The characters he takes on will encourage users to learn a language for a motive that fits their character. The Dark Owl (a play on Batman’s ‘The Dark Knight rises’) for example will be ‘fighting unilinguilism’ (knowing one language).
